Updating a Published Article

Once an article has been published, it is uploaded to the website’s cache. This cache makes the website faster for readers to access. However, we also have to tell the cache when an article is updated to make sure that it is distributing the correct version. You can do this automatically or manually.

Automatically (~15 minute delay in page updating)

Whenever the ‘Save’ button is clicked on a published article, Fabrik will automatically ask the cache to update the article to its latest version. However, this automatic process can take up to 15 minutes.

Manually (~1 minute delay in page updating)

Sometimes, 15 minutes is too long to wait, and an article needs to be updated straight away. This can be done manually in Fabrik.

First, make sure that you’ve made all your changes to the article, and clicked the ‘Save’ button.

Once your changes have been saved, click the ‘Purge’ button to update the article instantly.

The article should then update for all readers within 1 minute.
